Why supervision matters

GLP-1 therapy works
unsupervised, it carries real risks

GLP-1s without oversight put growing kids at risk. A prescription without a plan is not a treatment. We prescribe, we manage, and we stay with your child every step of the way.

Without a plan
Lean muscle can be lost
30%
lost on GLP-1s without structured nutrition support
Weight often returns
~60%
of weight lost is regained within 12 months of stopping GLP-1 medication
GI side effects
62%
of adolescents on semaglutide in the STEP TEENS trial experienced GI adverse events
Obesity persists
89%
of teenagers with obesity will have obesity in adulthood without intervention
With Thryvwell
  • Behavioral coaching builds habits that outlast the prescription
  • Structured nutrition plans protect lean muscle and support healthy growth
  • Patients learn to maintain results after stopping medication
  • Proactive GI monitoring and dose management keep side effects from forcing early discontinuation
  • Monthly check-ins and lab reviews catch every risk before it becomes a problem

Who we help

Is this my child?

Thryvwell works with adolescents ages 12 to 17. If any of the following sounds familiar, your child may qualify.

Has your child's pediatrician mentioned their weight at recent visits?

A BMI at or above the 95th percentile for age and sex is the primary eligibility threshold. Adolescents with a BMI at or above the 85th percentile may qualify if they have a weight-related condition.

Has your child been told they have prediabetes, high blood pressure, or high cholesterol?

Weight-related health conditions make a child a strong candidate for early intervention.

Has your child tried to lose weight before without lasting results?

Behavioral and nutritional support alongside medication addresses the habits, not just the number on the scale.

Is your child between 12 and 17 years old?

Thryvwell is designed specifically for adolescents. Patients who turn 18 during the program receive a warm handoff to an adult provider.

The support
your child's GLP-1 requires

GLP-1 prescriptions for adolescents have risen nearly 600% since 2020.¹ The wraparound support those prescriptions require has not kept pace. Thryvwell closes that gap.
