FDA-approved GLP-1 medications have been studied specifically in adolescents ages 12 and up, including in the largest randomized controlled trial of its kind published in the New England Journal of Medicine. Every Thryvwell patient is monitored by a board-certified specialist with regular visits and lab work.
Growth comes first. Our board-certified physicians track height, development milestones, and labs at every stage, and treatment plans are adjusted to protect normal adolescent growth. This is the core difference between adolescent-specialized care and adult programs.
The most common side effects are mild nausea and stomach upset, usually during the first weeks as the dose gradually increases. Your child's care team monitors closely, adjusts dosing to minimize discomfort, and is available by message between visits.
Completely involved. Parents attend visits, approve every clinical decision, and see all care team communication. For ages 12–17, nothing happens without your consent.
Most families spend about 30 minutes per month on video visits, from home. No waiting rooms, no missed school or work. Messaging with the care team is available anytime between visits.
Medication and laboratory costs are separate from the Thryvwell membership. Insurance coverage varies by plan, medication, and individual circumstances. Our care team can help you understand options and navigate insurance requirements, including prior authorization when applicable.
