Before clinical care

Telehealth Consent Overview

Last updated: October 4, 2026

Important overview

Thryvwell's clinical care is delivered through professional telehealth consultations with a licensed clinician in Thryvwell's clinical network. This page explains the telehealth process in plain language. It is not the signed clinical consent: the applicable adult patient or parent/legal guardian reviews and signs the operative telehealth consent in the secure MDI clinical intake before clinical care begins.

What telehealth means

Telehealth may involve video, telephone, secure messaging, review of information submitted through the clinical platform, and other remote methods permitted by law. The clinician determines the appropriate method for the visit and whether telehealth is suitable for the situation.

Benefits and limitations

Telehealth can make it easier to connect with a clinician from a convenient location and support ongoing follow-up. It also has limits. A remote visit may not allow the clinician to perform every aspect of an in-person examination, technology may fail, and a clinician may decide that an in-person evaluation, urgent evaluation, laboratory testing, or other follow-up is necessary.

Your role and choices

  • Choose a private, safe location for your telehealth visit when possible.
  • Provide accurate information and tell the clinician about technology or communication needs.
  • Ask questions about telehealth, alternatives, costs, privacy, or the clinician's recommendations.
  • You may decline or withdraw consent for telehealth to the extent permitted by law; doing so may affect whether remote care can be provided.
  • For a patient under 18, a parent or legal guardian must complete required consent steps.

Not for emergencies

Telehealth is not for a medical emergency. If you believe there is an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. For mental-health or suicide crisis support in the United States, call or text 988.

Privacy and clinical decisions

Clinical information, consent, and care communications are handled in the secure clinical workflow, not through this public website. Enrollment does not guarantee clinical acceptance, treatment, or medication. The licensed clinician makes independent clinical decisions based on the evaluation and applicable standards of care.
